Since 2014, our free legal advisory call center has received over 475,000+ calls from 600 towns, villages, and cities across Pakistan. This unique data provides valuable insights into the legal challenges faced by everyday Pakistanis, covering a wide spectrum of issues, including criminal law, civil law, and public grievances. The data is recorded ethically and responsibly by a team of High Court-enrolled advocates, with quality assurance overseen by the Chief Legal Advisor of the Legal Aid Society (LAS), Retired Justice Arif Hussain Khilji.
Users of NAZ Assist can easily verify the information provided by the chatbot by contacting the Sindh Legal Advisory Call Center (SLACC) at 0800-70806. This free service connects individuals directly to expert lawyers who offer tailored, quality legal advice. For those without phone balance, simply enter your name and mobile number in the NAZ Assist chatbot after clicking the ‘Request a Free Callback button’, and our lawyers will call you back on the next working day.
LAS operates a vibrant ecosystem of programs, including Gender-Based Violence (GBV), Women’s Right to Legal Property (WRLP), SLACC, Protecting and Promoting Religious Freedoms (PPRF), and Musaliha International Center for Arbitration and Dispute Resolution (MICADR). Through these programs, we provide free litigation support and out-of-court mediation assistance to vulnerable populations who cannot afford legal representation.
Crime and legal issues can arise unexpectedly, leaving people confused and overwhelmed. NAZ Assist is available round-the-clock to help individuals take the first step toward understanding their rights and accessing justice. This ensures that support is always available when needed the most.
Language barriers or being differently abled should never prevent anyone from accessing justice. As Pakistan's first multilingual legal chatbot, NAZ Assist communicates in English, Urdu, Pashto, and Sindhi, making legal information accessible to a diverse audience nationwide. Additionally, the chatbot is designed to accommodate individuals who are deaf or mute, enabling them to connect with the LAS ecosystem seamlessly.
We are an NGO committed to ensuring justice and dignity for all. NAZ Assist is not a lead-generation tool or a paid subscription service. There are no monthly fees, and users don’t even have to create a login account. Our mission is to help individuals resolve their legal issues so they can lead dignified lives with their rights intact.
NAZ Assist is an innovative legal chatbot developed by the Legal Aid Society (LAS) of Pakistan, inspired by the vision of its founder, Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid. Trained on SLACC’s data, this AI-powered tool is designed to provide accessible legal guidance to all citizens, reflecting Justice Zahid's lifelong dedication to legal rights advocacy and justice for all.
The journey began with Justice Nasir Aslam Zahid, former Chief Justice of the Sindh High Court, who envisioned delivering justice to all Pakistanis, regardless of caste, religion, gender, or economic background. Following his retirement, he established a free legal advice desk outside the court. In 2014, he launched the Legal Advisory Call Center (LACC) with funding from the British High Commission. In 2018, the Sindh Government adopted the project under a landmark public-private partnership and renamed it the Sindh Legal Advisory Call Centre (SLACC).
A decade later, under the leadership of his daughter, Barrister Haya Eman Zahid, CEO of LAS, this dream has been further realized. She spearheaded the initiative to integrate AI with the legal expertise and insights LAS has built over the years. By combining 24/7 AI accessibility with human legal professionals' expertise, LAS is bringing justice closer to every citizen of Pakistan.
